Aldborough Resident’s Survey Results

Thank you to everyone who fed back on our survey. It’s helped us to highlight areas we need to work with you on and helps us to focus our priorities. We’ve looked at the results and have created an action plan which sets out what we’re going to do - it’ll also let us give you updates as we make progress towards it.

First off - a run through of the results…..

What is the biggest issue in your local area?

The three biggest issues (by quite a margin) was Crime & ASB, Street litter & rubbish and the environment. In the times when we could speak to people face to face - this was something that came up quite a lot. This gives us quite a clear steer as to where we need to focus our energies.

What is the best thing about your area?

Even without the green coloured font - green related things clearly come to the front. There were lots of comments about access to green and open spaces. The challenge for us is how we create better access to it and how we create more of it in and around our streets. People clearly like living next to Fairlop Waters and having great parks - what can we do to enhance that?

What would you most like to change about your local area?

The responses to this were much more mixed. Looking through the responses in more detail there are some big speeding problems along Aldborough Road North, Oaks Lane and the Perrymans Farm area (although it comes up as smaller on the word cloud). Most of the problems highlighted weren’t big themes, but more individual problems that we need to tackle one on one. Some of these can be dealt with on ward walks and by flagging issues to the council.

If the council could do one thing to improve your area what would it be?

This one is much more clear cut. The big stuff coming out of this was around speed, litter and crime/ASB. This reflects a lot of the first question in terms of big themes. All this helps us with our action plan...

Action plan

Based on the feedback above we’ve developed an action plan. This will probably change over the course of the year and is by no means everything we’re doing, but gives you an outline of what our big priorities are. Some of the activities will be dependent on what the latest COVID restrictions are, but we can try some online versions of them to see how well they work.
